Climbing
the pine tree
at a time,
spreading
on ripples
that mirror
in the pond,
taking
the long way
to rise.

This is very beautiful and peaceful. I love the ending ‘taking the long way to rise’.

“Spreading on ripples” is a truly worthy way to “taking the long way to rise.” There are no shortcuts, are there, Betty? Just rejoicing at the exquisite, concise way you expressed this in your post.
