of golden heat
in outstretched hands
raised to the sky.
O Eros,
she prays secretly
please take this round
of your creation,
guard its flame
forever more
and I’ll dance sweet
to tinder-music,
one man’s fire
seared into my palm.

A radiant offering my bright friend. “tinder music”. I loved that line. At first I was tempted to wonder if it were misspelled, but alas, the lines betray the play on words and you are shown to be as clever and brilliant as ever. Lovely 🙂

Thanks, Richard!! I haven’t been able to follow through on recent awards, but am planning to post a “thank you” soon to those who have nominated me – and at that time will include my list of 15+. (STILL trying to figure out how to create working links in posts – I can’t get that feature to work.) Thank you again! 🙂

Ah Betty. Up to your usual standard I see. I’ve answered the question, but still I wonder, how do you do it?

Simply gorgeous writing; you have a mysterious propensity to blank verse that is most appealing. You seem to place yourself right into your words, a style of your own…

Thank you, Lindy Lee. 🙂 Even when a poem doesn’t rhyme, rhythm or meter is important – maybe that’s what you like here? Hopefully it isn’t too sing-songy! 🙂

Nice poem, Betty.
Re. problem with links:
1.Set up a new “Draft” post called “LINKS”
with the text
WHAT APPEARS ON SCREEN
2. When you want to insert a new link in a post you’re wanting tp publish, go to “LINKS” and copy and paste a second version of
WHAT APPEARS ON SCREEN
Then in this second copy replace “LINK ADDRESS” and “WHAT APPEARS ON SCREEN” with the address and title you want in the new post you’re creating.
3. Cut and paste this into your new post at the appropriate spot.
Tip:
When “LINKS” starts to slip too far down the list of “All Posts” on your dashboard open it as if to edit it, then “Save Draft” and close it again. This moves it up to the top again.
If any of this isn’t clear, e-mail me.

Thanks, for the instructions, Ben! I’ll print out your comment and give it a try. Sounds like a complicated process – I wonder why WP doesn’t make it easier. (Supposedly they do – but when I try it their way, it will post the link in the draft, but when you go to preview it, it’s gone!) Will try it your way.
Happy New Year!!

There used to be a simple user friendly WP process, a bit like the “All Media” button, but it disappeared a few weeks back. That’s when I had to develop this way of doing it. It isn’t nearly as complicated as it sounds. 🙂
