for this latest award!! If you haven’t already found his blog, his poetry is full of love, life, whimsy, passion, delightful journeys of imagery, and profound echoes of serious thought and spirit. And chocolate. Be sure to offer chocolate. 🙂
Thankfully there are no rules, no requirements. But I would like to finally (as promised weeks ago) take this opportunity to thank two poets who have kindly nominated me several times for various other awards. They would include Caddo Veil at caddoveil.wordpress.com and Lauren at lscotthoughts.com – both wonderful, inspiring poets.
Along with them, I also nominate the following (in no particular order) whom I greatly admire. They all continue to amaze me with their fine poetry. Forgive me if I’ve left anyone out. Please check my blogroll for those not included here, and who I might have accidentally missed. I’m unable to leave comments on all blogs this evening, so hopefully you will all find this post and see your blogs here.

Thank you, Caddo – I finally figured out (with the help of Ben Nada) how to get active links into my posts, so decided it was time to accept one and give recognition to you and others who have been so giving with their great poetry. (Am giving up on that icon, though! 🙂 )

Hi Betty–I’m going to have to risk appearing the idiot, here. In thanking Lauren Scott and me for past award nominations, did you also nominate us for the “Genuine”? We’re just a smidge confused/polite–not wanting to grab something if it’s not been offered to us. Speaking for myself alone, it’s completely okay if you were Not offering the award to me–I just need to know so I don’t make a further public spectacle of myself…(I know, since when did Caddo worry about seeming “over the top”??)
Also, do you know anything about how these awards come to BE? Can any blogger just create one, and start passing it around? Or, are there protocols and policies? I’m asking because I’d kind of like to “thunk” one up!
Hope you’re staying warm–I could have used snowshoes when I went out to check the mail…finally! God bless you.

Dear Caddo – I’m so sorry for not making that more certain. You and Lauren ARE definitely included in the nominations! The first few words of that next paragraph “along with them” was supposed to indicate that, but afraid I wasn’t very clear. I’ve just gone in and added your names to the list, just so there isn’t any confusion for anyone else reading that post.
And no, I don’t know who starts these awards, but I suspect it’s not any “official” person but that anyone can do so – (sort of like “chain letters” if you’ll forgive that phrase – but it seems they work the same way? Be that for good or bad, lol!!)
(Just went out to take some snow photos and was surprised at how deep it was – went over my boots! Brrrrrr….. it’s warmed up to 29 now though and stopped snowing. Maybe a change is coming.)

Congratulations Betty. As for the image: go the this link https://justramblinpier.wordpress.com/2011/05/20/genuine-recognition/,
right click on the image of the award and click save image as.. to download it on your computer. You can then upload it into your media library at wordpress or via the insert picture on top of your post. That way the picture should show up. I hope this helps.

Congrats, Betty, you are so deserving! If you’re still having trouble, here’s what I do to copy the image. Click on the image from Martin’s post. Copy the URL, then go to Widgets in your Dashboard. Drag the “image” widget to your sidebar, type in the name of the award, paste the URL, save, and you’re finished! It took me a few tries, but now it works.

Betty–for me, it was easier to just make a separate Awards page, than doing the widget thing. ‘Course now I’ll be second-guessing myself (“is it more ‘impressive’ to display awards on the home page?”)–I know, I know, just go to bed Caddo! I’m going to crank up my electric blanket and dream of island paradise…
