Indeed – this was an ode to my favorite old skirt (bought in 1994) that I’m trying to keep in one piece. 😆

Hmm…and I thought I was the lone survivor of the “just one more time” club. 🙂

You’re not alone, Charlie. 😉 I’m afraid this favorite old skirt won’t survive one more washing.

Hi cousin, great to see you here! Yes, this is an appropriate metaphor for us these days I think – you’re right. 😄

I know the feeling. Keep it and make some art with it! (K)

Good idea! So far I’ve just taken photos. (It’s really fragile now – the fabric is tearing out in a couple of places. I only wear it at home now…but still love it. 🙂 )

Of course traditional quilts have always used old clothing. But there’s a lot you could do (although nothing would replace having it to wear).

Will have to give it some thought. Maybe I could make a couple of pillows out of it. 😊 Thanks for the idea to repurpose the material somehow.

Gorgeous color, Betty.
I think you’re someone I’d enjoy having tea with sometime. Faded colors come with fantastic stories.

Thank you, Audrey, I’d enjoy that cup of tea with you. Faded colors do have their stories to tell…. (I’ve always loved long, colorful skirts – the gauzy ones, peasant style.)

I’ve always loved them, too. I have never worn one, as I’m not sure I would do them the artistic justice deserved. I admire them a lot.

Maybe it takes an old hippie like me to be comfortable in them 🤣😆 .

I always fantasize about keeping my clothing, but it never quite works out. Perhaps I’m too much a chameleon, I don’t know. But you revived that fantasy in this lovely offering! 🙂

I do usually get rid of old worn out clothes but this has been a favorite. I’ll probably wear it around the house till it’s in shreds. 🤣😄

I love your hippie skirt ^_^
I don’t have any of my clothes from back then, but I still have my long hair, though it’s getting gray

Same here, with the hair. Still longish but turning gray. 😊☮️

I keep thinking I might color it because I like it dark, but then I don’t haha.
p.s. I love the name of your blog

Over the years I have owned a few very special pieces of clothing, worn and reworn until they … were worn out. Nice tribute here.

Some people have no sentimental attachment. I tend to trust those who do. Old things are our memories. If the house was on fire id grab my you penguin, a photo of my grandma and the patchwork blamed she knitted me. It was knitted badly as she couldn’t knit but it has more value than Jason’s fleece. I totally related to this.

I know just what you mean. (It’s so sweet – the patchwork blanket your grandma knitted…I love that!) I’m seriously attached to so many things… everything has a story and/or a person behind it…. Your poetry book is now one of my much loved treasures.
Thank you dear Candice, for reading through so many of my poems here today.
