She takes in the street,
its rain-polished gleam
of high wet shadows,
of tall crows in bare trees.
Cupping her hands
she gathers a reflection
draws it to her lips
and drinks.

So much of nature’s beauty would be wonderful to taste.

It would! At least we can enjoy the fragrance of most of it. 🙂

Intense and joyful. Rushes at you from the page. And, as ever, no seams showing. How do you do it?

Thank you so much for the compliment! As for the seams not showing, it must be luck. (With these old ones I just keep sanding away at the edges. Time and tides…. 😉 )

You know, this brings to mind all the times I’d bring cold (sometimes gloved) hands to my mouth to warm them on a chilly day. Drinking in the reflection seems a perfect description, for whether I realized it or not, that was what I was doing. Well penned! ❤

Thank you, Bela! Glad you could relate. 💕
(I’m running behind on blog reading – hoping to catch up with your latest post tomorrow. It’s getting hard to keep up on WP lately – so many great poets, so little time!)
Have a good night, my friend. 🌹

Thanks, Bela – blessings back to you! (Am even farther behind today as my back is flaring up. Oh, for an acupuncturist who makes house calls!! And who doesn’t charge anything, hahaha. 😊 Am thankful for Arnica! )

Rain often rain gets a bad press, but I think that it’s undeserved. People forget how much they enjoyed it a child and the beauty they saw in it. A shame. They are missing out.

I can still often enjoy it, although occasionally it’s just a case of wrong place, wrong time.

Yes, I prefer to be watching and listening to rain from inside a cozy warm place (which I’m doing this very moment 😊 ).
