I’d fly on white wings,
one of joy
one of sorrow
balanced
on crosswinds
above
and below
to mate
in mid-flight
with a prayer.

My thoughts and condolences are with Santa Fe, Texas today, and with all those affected by this most recent school shooting. When will it stop?
Coming in on a wing and a prayer 💜😀

So beautiful, Betty, and I agree…it’s just so tragic, and yet, there doesn’t seem to be any ending in sight. What will it take? Sending hugs and great to see you appear in my email. 🙂 ❤

And yes, it’s so tragic – for all concerned. And it seems to be the new “norm” as nothing changes….
Hugs 💞💞

Wonderful to see you posting again and a poignant metaphor. First I’ve heard of this latest shoot. I read there are 5000 dead this year already in school shootings over there.

Thank you so much! Hoping to stay caught up here now. 🙂
As for school shootings, the source that said 5000 is incorrect. I don’t know the exact number, but it’s more like 35-40 so far this year. (I just did a quick research.) Of course even one is too many. Yesterday’s death toll was 10, and the one in February was 17. There have been a few others, where “only” a couple of people were involved. Still outrageous though, I agree!
Thank you again for your thoughtful comment.

Thank you for correcting the statistic. I got it from a source that was mercifully unreliable. Sadly, it still compares with what I more tentatively read are 2710 kids under 12 killed or injured in a three year period. Strange that those who obsess about their right to have guns accept these figures as, apparently, acceptable collateral damage.

You’re right, it’s strange – and so very sad. And violence has become such every day news people become desensitized to it. It’s just part of life. Ironic….

What a lovely tribute to those who have lost their lives to this madness of “gun rights.” What about LIFE rights?

Good question, Sharon. Back when I was in school we never imagined school being a dangerous place….
