.
Your muse didn’t run away,
she came to visit mine today.
.
I watched them climb the cedar tree
to drink their mountain berry tea,
.
and as the sky turned into rain
I watched them climb back down again.
.
They danced until their feet were dry –
and then I heard them call goodbye,
.
and now my muse has gone away –
it seems she fled with yours today.
.
When they arrive, please send her home
to change this verse into a poem.
.

Some days it comes, some days it doesn’t. This one made me smile, Betty. Nothing seems to slow you down, you with the poet’s soul.

Delightful imagery! My own cure for writers block is what they call automatic writing. If you write enough, there’s always a few lines there that can be the springboard for something…

That’s what I used to do – thanks very much for reminding me of that remedy, and for your kind words!

Light and delicately balanced. yet a serious concern to a wordsmith or any creative person. I don’t knows how severe, current or ongoing this is, or even if is personal. Whatever the case can I introduce you to Oblique Strategies?
http://minimaldesign.net/os/ Click on the sentence and it will be replaced by another. And no reason why you can’t add a few of your own. (Though not on line. 🙂 )
And also Random Sentence Generator?
https://randomwordgenerator.com/sentence.php Of course one does not need to use the word(s) generated; rather they can used as a source of ideas/inspiration/

Thank you, Ben. (Writer’s block has plagued me since my teens, on and off.) I appreciate your suggestions and will definitely check them out.
It’s always good to hear from you, my friend.

May that wayward muse
choose to return, unlike mine, for she to me, is bad to the bone.

David, sorry I missed replying to this. Your muse can’t be all that bad, considering the clever poetry you write! 🙂

Betty, I love this one. What a great idea to think of your muse going off to play with another.
