The time arrives
when the walls come alive
and we see
between the molecules,
the shimmer and the might –
and every barricade
becomes a door.

After a little time off, I’m hoping to catch up with everyone soon!
My thoughts are with everyone who is affected by the U.S. government shutdown (directly or indirectly, as we all shall be soon). I’m very saddened by the direction our country has taken the last two years. This too shall pass – hopefully.
Very nice poem!!!

Alas, I think it’s been a rudderless ship rather than some true course.

Indeed….no rudder, and no one capable of steering. Icebergs everywhere!

Such a lovely, hopeful poem, I really love this one. Wise words from someone I much admire, both the poem and the comment at the end.

Thank you so much, Sharon – good to hear from you. I hope things are going well with you in this new year. Trying to hold on to hope, here…

Lovely thoughts. My thoughts are with the US at the moment. Dark times.

I hope you are feeling fully better. A fine poem to start the New Year. ‘The shimmer and the might’ – that line has its own might and shimmer, quite epigrammatic. Could be the title of a novel! Hope things on your side of the pond rapidly improve. We’ve got our own Brexit troubles over here, as you know. Our two great countries have seen better days!

Thank you for your kind words on the poem, and your support! I too hope things will work out over there with Brexit. It sounds like such a confusing change, and I can imagine the upset the transition will cause. Is it truly a done deal?

Everything is up in the air. We could go out with No Deal, which would be disastrous; we could have another election to try to break the deadlock; or we could have a second referendum – now that the people have a clearer idea what it all means – and try to break the deadlock that way! Anything could happen and none of the options look pretty.

Just saw breaking news here that the Brexit deal failed. Hope something can be worked out! (Meanwhile, it’s continuing insanity here….)

A lovely thought. Yes, we need a total change of direction. (K)

Thank you, Kerfe.
Cross fingers for that change of direction. It’s insane what is happening to our nation.

Doing better now, thanks for asking. Watching for signs of spring (the heather is blooming!) even though it’s freezing every night. Glad you’re doing fine. 😊💗

Yes. Sometimes it is a help beyond the current apparency. A timely reminder, Betty, and nicely expressed.
