We hardly ever saw Elms back east. Dutch Elm Disease pretty much wiped them out in New England. Fun to witness this single trembling leaf. 😘

I love elm trees, though had to leave mine behind when we moved six years ago. They’re subject to disease here too…. don’t know if they’re still alive. ❤️

Always love it when new shoots spring forth Betty.. Unfortunately for two of my Acer trees they sprang their tender shoots just as Jack Frost came and bite them in the bud.. I am hoping they recover.. But at the moment they look pretty sad..

Sorry to hear about your Acer trees…. hope they try again. We had a late frost here too a couple of nights ago and I’m crossing my fingers for all the new growth. 🌱💚

They look pretty sorry for themselves, but I am leaving them as they are, I read up and I can prune back, but the wood is green on the tips and alive, so I will let nature do her thing.. Hope your own plants survive the frosts. ❤

Well, speaking of that, I just discovered that our favorite ornamental maple tree also got bitten by the frost last week. Unfurling new leaves are all shriveling up! Waaa! 😥 I’m hoping the same – that the tree will try again. Let me know how yours do. ❤️❤️

We have a sharp frost forecast again for tonight so I am covering up my Jasmine which is starting to flower.. The frost got it last year and I lost all the foliage, but I had it covered until a few weeks ago.. Sorry to hear about your Maple Betty.. I am hoping Nature heals our trees too.. ❤
