She lives in earth tones –
soft colors of
amber and sage
brush across her arms
on terracotta mornings
and lavender afternoons.

Bracelets of seashells
on pink ribbons
play on her wrists,
her celadon skirt
swaying like the tresses
of the willow
where she dances
in the garden –
invisible.

No, it is (or rather was – I missed your comment-reply here again 😦 ) July. This reply is so outdated we’ve had quite a bit of chitchat since this. Oh well. 💜💜 Doing another bit of tidying up.

Betty, I’m not surprised that after last month’s entry, it would be a while before you could post a new poem.
I think Gaia’s daughter is visible to everyone who dreams of all the splendors of the earth and hopes they endure forever. And I’m sure she is smiling as she whispers her poem back to all of us.

Hi Betty,
I love ‘Daughter of Gaia’. Your gentle, joyous poem gives me hope that with a concerted approach to tackling environmental hazards globally, things might yet be turned around with a healthy future for ourselves and the myriad other creatures we share this planet with.
Take care,
Paul

Paul, thank you so much for your thoughtful comment. (Sorry to be so slow in replying – I’ve been absent from WP for awhile and have much catching up to do!) I too hope we can turn things around on this planet – in more ways than one.
Wishing you all the best,
Betty

Thank you for dropping in, Sue. I appreciate your good thoughts and am sending love back to you and yours. Gaia does indeed need our help. It’s hard not to become depressed by all that’s going wrong (especially in this country). But we mustn’t give in to despair or lose faith in the goodness of the majority of Caring Ones.
Will try to catch up with your blog soon. I’m way behind once again.
Blessings 💕💕
