.
Let go of my string,
the fog is a-scatter,
.
I’ll keep to the wind
flying high o’er the surf
.
as it pounds out its reason
on shale and stone.
.
The full moon’s aweigh
and Neptune’s at play –
.
let go of my string, and
it’s up and away.

Would I ever love to be that kite right now – sailing over all the worries, feeling free, soaring after the moon. Whether or not I get there is another thing.

A lovely poem, Betty. I could never seem to get a kite off the ground but I absolutely love watching other do so and love seeing them in the sky. Fall is upon us and I am doing better after six months now in my daughter’s home. Her family has their lives and I am learning to have mine at long last. Hope you are well.

Thanks so much, Renee. I too love kites, though also never had much luck myself, getting one off the ground. So glad to hear that things are going well with you. Enjoy these sunny fall days and stay well!

we were watching kites flying over the beach last weekend, and this poem captures it so well.

We must all let go to rise and to grow in all the ways we can. A fine poem of affirmation through defiance.

Hey Becky. I quit WP and I write at https://nitinlalitmurali.ghost.io/ I enjoy your work, and I’d love to maintain your readership. Do subscribe if you’re interested. I’ve decided to keep a few followers and follow very few people. I found WP too exhausting!

Nitin, I’ll try to visit your new site soon. Unfortunately I don’t have the time or energy to subscribe to another place. Hope you might still visit WP once in awhile. I do admire your writing!
