Thanks Willow ð — I’m having trouble with the new editor so it isn’t formatted the way it was supposed to be.
(Am trying to use the “classic ” block but it’s not as straightforward as it used to be. Menus and sidebars keep disappearing – drives me up the wall! ðĪŠ)

If I were you I would try to stick with the new editor, once you get the hang of it, it is so much easier. I get irritated with it too. That said the post looks beautiful ð

Thanks for the advice, Willow. Which block do you use for poetry?

I certainly don’t use the verse block as it never fits. I use the ordinary paragraph the P. Then pick size of font usually 20, and aline center. Does that help ð

You can also write your poetry in word or notes, cut and paste put in a paragraph block, aline left, centre or right, size and even colour . Keep fiddling and soon you’ll be comfortable ð

Thank you, thank you!! You’ve helped me more than WP’s instructions. Now I’ll just need to figure out an easy way to insert photos.

Thanks again, Willow! Next time I’ll know what to look for. Am always in a hurry on my PC because of back pain so haven’t been able to explore much. I really appreciate your help!
Hope you have a restful night. ðð

There is a (fairly) simple way to access the old-style ‘Classic’ Editor to either compose or edit. If you want to know more e-mail me. Like so many of these newly imposed so-called “improvements” it is quite the oppsite. ðĶ

Thank you, kind sir — I shall email you. ð
And yes, as the saying goes, I don’t know why they’ve gotta fix something that ain’t broke! ð

Especially when the “improvement” is rather the opposite.

The moon’s reflections are always magic.
You can post the old way by going into WP Admin and clicking posts. Thats what I do. The block editor is too time-consuming for me, and I don’t like how it clips things off in the reader, which is how I look at posts. I dont know why tech people always try to make things more complex and non-intuitive. (K)

Thanks for the suggestion, Kerfe. I think you nailed the biggest problem — it’s too time consuming — especially for someone who can’t sit at the computer for very long. And I agree, it’s definitely less intuitive and more complex now. I shall try going through Administration next time. Hopefully they don’t take away that option!

Just beautiful, Betty, and I read your comments about the new editor. I felt the same way and am still figuring it out. But I’m doing the same as Willowdot, just fyi. ð
It seems once we’re comfortable with something, it changes and everything becomes scrambled eggs. ðĨ° Sending hugs! ððð

I love this! so beautiful and playful.
With regard to the new block editor, I have had my struggles. Now I copy my poems frmm my word processor into a text editor (Wordpad) then copy them from that into a Paragraph block. This keeps my alignment and spacings.

Hmmm – wishing to be in the other position, unable to see the beauty of what it is. Interesting that the moon and the pond react so humanly.
