Like a muse

inside a bottle

in the middle

of the sea

she saw the moon

through amber glass

and cried out fire!

but no one heard.

Her voice just echoed

‘round the circle

of another

sleepless night

riding on the wave

of potentiality.

of manna

ladled into deep bowls


sweet fruit

of last night’s dream

now ripe
