I feel your drumbeat
in the cosmic symphony –
music becomes you.

Shower from the east,
magic sunshine in the west
rainbow up her sleeve.

Enchanting surprise
turning the corner to find
nesting crocuses.

Rocks balanced with care
always aiming for the sky
never mind the tide.

Sun gives it all up
for lavender and yellow;
tree launches the moon.

Sleep interrupted –
someone’s knocking on the roof.
Crow comes for breakfast.

Peace interrupted –
someone’s knocking on the door.
Flicker comes for lunch.

They’re a bit fuzzy because they were taken through a window.
At least that’s my excuse this time. 🙂 )

When you say haiku,
I say gesundheit,
give you a tissue.
.
When you say tanka
I say you’re welcome –
we are so polite.
.
When you say meter
I think therefore iambic.
Tell me you are too.
.
Can you play on words?
Maybe if they all had wheels
they could play on you.

Without enough rain
even so-called weeds succumb –
no prejudice there.

Dark cloud to the west
rubs belly on mountain top –
sky is tickled pink.
